Privacy in Kreidezeit

Student data stayswith you.

Kreidezeit is built so that the names, grades and remarks of your classes never leave your device.

Principles

No account. No tracking.No ads.

No account

Kreidezeit needs no sign-in. There is no Kreidezeit account and no Kreidezeit server.

No tracking

No third-party analytics, advertising or crash reporting. The app contains no third-party software packages.

No ads

No ads and no selling of data. Kreidezeit is funded by the full version.

Storage

What lives where.Clearly separated.

Only on This Device

  • Classes and students
  • Grades and assessments
  • Remarks
  • Contacts and birthdays
  • Safety Copies

Not in iCloud, not in the device’s iCloud backup, on no server.

In your private iCloud

  • Timetable
  • Lesson plans and attachments
  • To-dos
  • Meetings

Synced through your own Apple Account. Without iCloud, the planner stays on the device too.

So remember: keep students’ names in the class lists only, not in planner notes, to-dos or attachments.

Protection

How class listsare protected.

Face ID lock

Class lists open only after Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Switch to another app and they lock at once. In the app switcher, the content is hidden.

Lock after a break

If your iPad lies unlocked on the desk, Kreidezeit locks the class lists after 2, 5 or 10 minutes without use. The default is 5 minutes, under Lock class lists after.

Stored encrypted

The data is stored with iOS’s strongest file protection. While the device is locked, it is encrypted and unreadable, even for Kreidezeit.

No names without unlocking

Outside the class lists, for example on Today, in search or in the sidebar, no students’ names appear until you unlock.

Backup

Backup and new devices. With your key.

Encrypted backup

A backup of your class lists is a file encrypted with your password. Kreidezeit doesn’t store the password. Without it, the file can’t be opened, not even by Support.

Transfer with a one-time code

For a new device, Kreidezeit creates a random 12-character code. The file goes via AirDrop, and you type the code on the new device. It works for this one transfer only.

Safety Copies

Before deleting and before a school year change, Kreidezeit makes a safety copy on the device. It is kept for 30 days and you can delete it yourself at any time.

Network

What leaves the device.Almost nothing.

Holidays

For school holidays, Kreidezeit asks OpenHolidays (openholidaysapi.org) only for your country and state. No student data is sent.

iCloud

The planner syncs through your private iCloud. That runs through Apple, not through Kreidezeit.

What you share

Backups, printouts and PDFs leave the device only when you share or save them yourself.

School

For yourschool leadership.

Whether student data may be processed on personal devices depends on local rules and often on the school itself. Approval from the school leadership is frequently required. This overview can help that conversation, but it is not legal advice. Your school gives the binding answer.
