TroubleshootingWhere student data lives
Class lists, student names, grades, remarks and contacts live only on the device where they are entered, in a separate store apart from the planner. They are never synced through iCloud. They reach another device only through a password-protected backup.
The lock
Class lists are protected with Face ID, Touch ID or the device passcode. They lock when you leave the app.
Lock automatically
Class lists also lock after a period without use: after 2, 5 or 10 minutes, 5 minutes by default. Set it under Settings › Class Lists › Lock class lists after.
No names without unlocking
Without unlocking, the app shows no student names, not on “Today”, in previews or in the app switcher.
Without a device passcode
Without a device passcode, class lists can’t be protected. In that case, set up a passcode in the device’s Settings first.
Student data on personal devices
Whether student data may be stored on personal devices differs by region and school. Usually you need permission from your school leadership. Your school gives the binding answer. More under Data protection.
