TroubleshootingWhy back up
Class lists live only on the device. If it’s lost, only a backup helps. Backup is always free.
Create a backup
Under Settings › Class Lists › Back Up Now …. Kreidezeit makes a copy of your class lists: subjects, students, grades and profiles. If you like, it also includes the planner with timetable, lessons, notes, to-dos, meetings and attachments. Then the share sheet opens so you can store the file.
The password
The file ending in .kzsicherung is encrypted with a password of your own, at least 8 characters. Without this password, the backup can’t be opened, not even by support. Keep the password and file safe, not in a shared folder.
Restore a backup
Under Settings › Class Lists › Restore…, choose the file and enter the password. Then choose: class lists, planner or both.
- Class lists replace all class lists on the device. Kreidezeit first makes a safety copy of the current state.
- Planner is only added to. Existing entries stay, nothing is duplicated.
Last backup
Below the class lists it says when you last backed up. If it’s more than 30 days ago, a line on “Today” reminds you.
